"I met Rueben from HEP today concerning a tune-up for my water heater. Because of the age of my water heater, 25 years, and the fact it was working perfectly, I decided due to the valve being plastic and a fear of breaking it not to do the tune-up. Rueben agreed and was kind enough give me a quote on replacing the water heater and showed me a product to keep my drain lines clear. Very nice person and very thorough in his explanation of all that HEP could offer us. Great company and great employees. I also had Zac and Adam replace two bathroom switches, as well as, install a LED light fixture in the shower. They also replaced three outside lights that we had been needing replaced for years. Great young men and are valuable asset to your company. I called HEP at 11:00 a.m., and spoke to a very nice young lady concerning a strong odor of methane gas in our laundry room and upstairs bathroom. She said a plumber would be at my house between 1:00 - 6:00 p.m. today. I received a call at 1:15 p.m. saying the plumbers were on their way. They were here by 1:40 p.m. I met two young who both were named Shaun. They were from our first handshake to our goodbye cordial, congenial, and very knowledgeable. Extremely professional young men. The moment they walked into the bathroom with the strong methane odor they knew what was wrong by asking one question. How often do you run that shower? When I told them rarely, they told me exactly what was wrong. The water in the trap for the shower had evaporated from lack of use and that was allowing the sewer gas that is normally blocked by the water in the trap to leak out of the shower drain. After a few flushes of the toilet and some running of water in the shower, my problem was solved. They took the time to clean out the shower drain and they were finished. I bought the Service Plan because of their honesty and their wonderful demeanor. Shaun and Shaun are credits to your company in many ways. I will use your company again in the future because of this visit. Thank you."

Louisville’s neighborhoods, warehouses, offices, and retail corridors increasingly depend on efficient light sources and intelligent control systems to remain competitive, attractive, and sustainable. HEP Company stands at the center of this evolution, providing comprehensive electrical lighting upgrades that reduce utility costs, illuminate spaces more effectively, and help Kentucky’s largest metro achieve long-term sustainability goals. The following in-depth overview explores every stage of HEP’s lighting upgrade process, the technological options available, and the performance advantages property owners gain when they choose to modernize illumination systems.

Why Lighting Upgrades Matter for Louisville Properties

Energy Savings and Utility Bill Reduction

Energy expenses represent a significant portion of operating costs for Louisville homes and businesses. Lighting can account for 15–40 percent of total electricity consumption depending on the building type. Each traditional incandescent or high-intensity discharge fixture swapped for an LED alternative can cut wattage by 50–80 percent. Those savings compound daily, translating into measurable reductions on every Kentucky Utilities or LG&E bill.

Enhanced Visual Comfort and Productivity

Better color rendering, reduced flicker, and optimal lumen output improve task accuracy, decrease eye strain, and elevate mood. Louisville offices that transition from antiquated fluorescent troffers to modern LED panels often report higher employee satisfaction and fewer headaches or fatigue complaints. Retailers benefit from truer color representation that highlights merchandise, and hospitality venues create more inviting atmospheres for guests.

Increased Property Value

Prospective tenants and buyers increasingly favor energy-efficient buildings. Verified reductions in annual kWh utilization, paired with modern lighting aesthetics, can elevate appraised value and accelerate leasing cycles.
